Bridal Sign Up

Garden Variety

For these two Atlanta-based business owners, a warm wedding in the Caribbean was a done deal.

Marsha Middleton & Edwin Archer | February 18, 2017 | Montego Bay, Jamaica

Marsha stunned in Anne Barge’s Vendome gown, while Edwin looked sharp in a custom tux designed by James Massey of Q Clothier.

For Marsha and Edwin it was all about the details, including rose gold-foil placecards and signage incorporating their wedding hashtag, #HappilyEverArcher17.

The bride’s Valentino Rockstud ankle-strap sandals.

Soft blush and ivory details perfectly complemented the elegant garden setting.

The couple said their vows in an intimate space beneath a greenery-covered trellis.

Ultimate power couple Marsha Middleton and Edwin Archer (she’s the founder and president of M-Squared Public Relations, and he’s the president and chief network engineer of Arch Enterprise Inc.) put down their brief cases for a few days to celebrate their six-year-long love in beautiful Montego Bay, Jamaica. The two may have wed in a traditionally romantic spot, but they met in the most modern way possible: online.

The venue, Bellefield Great House & Gardens, proved the perfect location for the pair, who didn’t want the bright and bold color scheme typically associated with a Caribbean wedding. Rather, “I wanted soft elegance that made [guests] think of all the delicate things associated with a garden,” Marsha explains. And the rose gold and ivory palette did just that, thanks to planner Scoobie West of Scoobie West & Company.

In keeping with the natural, unfussy color combo, Marsha says, “Edwin and I wanted our wedding to feel like a fun day-party.” In fact, the two instructed their guests to dress for a garden-chic affair, so that “when it was time to dance the night away, no one would be opposed,” she explains. The bride, however, was something out of an island fairytale, donning Anne Barge’s pearl-toned Italian silk mermaid silhouetted Vendome gown, while Edwin wore a custom tuxedo from Q Clothier.
Although Marsha’s mother was absent from the celebration due to her battle with Alzheimer’s, her presence was felt when Marsha’s matron of honor read a letter that paid tribute to her.

As for the honeymoon? All Marsha knows is that it’s in St. Lucia this summer, but the rest will be a surprise from her thoughtful beau.
