Bridal Sign Up

The Love Colony

A decadent Parisian proposal at Hôtel Coste—followed by elation and copious amounts of celebratory Champagne—paved the way for the Palm Springs wedding of RASA founder Mia Rappoport and Brit Jamie Rigden last October.

Mia and Jamie Rigden joyfully exited their wedding ceremony.

Bridesmaids, decked out in lacy Self-Portrait dresses in cherry red and pale pink, took to the streets of Palm Springs with Mia.

With a backdrop of the San Jacinto Mountains, the poolside reception at the Colony Palms Hotel—where guests eventually jumped into the pool fully clothed while a mariachi band played—dazzled.

Sleek acrylic menus and fresh foliage topped table linens from Bali.

The bride showed off her custom Edie Parker clutch.

The couple, who met at a party in New York, approached their wedding with a carefree, fun-loving attitude. Besotted with Palm Springs and envisioning a pool party as part of the big day, they landed on the Colony Palms Hotel, a historic property with an understated, luxurious feel.

Mia strolled down the aisle to The Beatles’ “All You Need Is Love” with her father, wearing a fluid, high-low gown she designed with one of her bridesmaids and carrying a bouquet of soft pink anthuriums. Jamie stood waiting for his bride in a bold, custom-made blue suit offset with a vintage, desert-inspired tie and watch. The two exchanged vows with Cartier rings and gushed at their new union under a sprinkle of rose petals.

The reception, where Mia changed into glittery Saint Laurent sneakers and guests sipped signature mezcal cocktails, was situated poolside and tinged with touches of glamour and nature. Linens were sourced from Bali, while clear acrylic menus were printed with gold foil lettering and placed atop a tropical leaf. A clean, healthy menu—including grilled bavette steak, pan-seared sea bass, Tuscan kale and wild mushrooms—was served.
The couple danced to a Montmartre remix of Bob Marley’s “Is This Love,” prompting guests to join in on the overflow of happiness. “It was our favorite moment of the whole weekend,” Mia says affectionately.
