What began as a platonic relationship for Elizabeth Holland and Van Ewing evolved into something more serious over the course of a few years. After a yearlong breakup in 2013, the couple realized they were meant to be and were engaged in 2015 during a romantic dinner at Found Kitchen and Social House in Evanston.

Elizabeth took on the role of planner and chose The Ivy Room as the “perfect location with the ivy courtyard in full bloom,” she says. Her bouquet of white roses, pink peonies and ferns meshed seamlessly with the greenery- and mosscentric table centerpieces executed by Dilly Lily. To honor relatives who recently passed away, the couple set up a remembrance table with photos.

Guests sipped on specialty cocktails (the bride’s blood orange margarita and the groom’s Manhattan) while UpBeat Music Productions kept a positive vibe going. Elizabeth changed into a white BHLDN jumpsuit before the party made its way down the street to Pops for Champagne. The couple jetted to Santorini and Mykonos, Greece, for their honeymoon.
