Bridal Sign Up

Heidi Gluck & Jonathan Jonas

November 12, 2016 | Fairmont Chicago

Heidi stunned in a gown from Israeli designer Inbal Dror, while Jonathan wore a tailored Ermenegildo Zegna tux.

The couple kept the invitations sophisticated with modern type and line drawings.

The candlelit aisle and white-draped chuppah.

The varying textures of blooms in the tall centerpieces added interest to the all-white arrangements.

The catering team at Fairmont Chicago created a cake with tiers of devil’s dark chocolate cake (with hazelnut filling) and pumpkin cake (with vanilla buttercream filling).

THE COUPLE It was an unusual setup: Heidi Gluck’s friend had been on a date with Jonathan Jonas a year and a half prior, and no sparks had flown, but her friend was convinced that Heidi and Jonathan would be a perfect match. And she was right: Jonathan proposed to Heidi on a trip to Israel, overlooking the skyline of Tel Aviv, and the pair tied the knot merely six months later.
THE DETAILS With the supermoon casting its magical spell outside, Heidi and Jonathan’s wedding at the Fairmont Chicago began with separate receptions for the bride (Kallah) and groom (Chattan), a reflection of this couple’s desire to honor their Jewish heritage. After the Ketubah was signed, the groom was escorted to the bride’s reception for the veiling ceremony. Afterward, 10 bridesmaids, in classic black gowns carrying long white calla lilies with chartreuse stems, walked down the candlelit aisle followed by the radiant bride, who wore a backless lace gown by Israeli designer Inbal Dror and a cathedral-length veil with blusher.
THE PARTY At the reception, guests dined on pan-roasted chicken, rib-eye, pumpkin gnocchi and two different wedding cakes. A lively party ensued, and the bride snapped off the sleeves of her specially altered dress to allow for a night of dancing, including a choreographed tango with her new husband, inspired by the movie Scent of a Woman.
