A mutual friend brought Shannon McMahon and Adam Schomaker together at a charity event, and the result was an immediate connection and lots of laughter. Almost three years later, Adam proposed to Shannon on a rooftop surrounded by snowfall and Michigan Avenue’s signature twinkling lights.

As Chicago was the first place they called home, Shannon and Adam had a very clear idea for the wedding decor: energetic, elegant and, perhaps most of all, representative of their love for the Windy City. Inspired by Chicago’s architecture, Shannon chose bridesmaid dresses in shades of jade and teal evocative of the patina seen on many landmark buildings.

Following the couple’s intimate nuptials overlooking the Chicago River, guests headed over to LondonHouse for a modern-meets-classic celebration. Guests enjoyed decadent bites and a fun step-and-repeat photo station while dancing the night away amid the city lights. The couple jetted off to Peter Island in the British Virgin Islands, where they spent their entire first day indulging at the spa.
