After walking down the aisle in an ivory venise lace and crepe sheath Tara Keely gown, Cristina changed into an organza fit-and-flare Maggie Sottero dress for the reception.

When Cristina Holguin and Aaron Schofield stepped on the plane in Cancun, Mexico, for a romantic getaway, Cristina had no idea just how memorable the trip would be. Before arriving, Aaron had worked with the hotel’s on-site coordinator to plan the perfect beach proposal. “He had rose petals laid out in the shape of a heart around him while he waited for me to arrive on the beach,” Cristina reminisces of the big night. “It was very romantic!”

For a one-of-a-kind wedding, Cristina was inspired by singer-songwriter Justin Timberlake, turning to his hit “Suit & Tie” for a truly unique theme. The Joule’s ballroom was transformed into a luxurious masterpiece fit for a music video with black, gold and white decor, and florals from Dr. Delphinium. After enjoying bites from The Joule and dancing to the tunes of DJ Soulja, Cristina and Aaron’s guests were treated to personalized caricatures that artists had drawn throughout the evening.

“Make [your wedding] unique, and about you and your fiance,” says Cristina. “This day is for you, and it’s OK to be a bridezilla because at the end of the day, it’s about you and your husband.”

Rather than take their honeymoon immediately following the big day, Cristina and Aaron decided they’d jet off to Bora Bora in February.
