A Family Affair

Kiley Trent’s wedding to Mac Kelly truly was a family affair. From the design of the ring to the white and blue color scheme, it was a summer dream come to life with the help of friends and family.

Kiley glowed in a sweetheart-neckline gown from Hayley Paige, which she topped with a sparkling jewelry-inspired bolero.

When the bride’s mother is a floral designer and her father a jeweler, you can bet there are sure to be beautiful flowers and gorgeous stones involved in the wedding! Such was the case in the nuptials of Kiley Trent and Mac Kelly, which took place at the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek June 11. The couple were high school sweethearts at Lakehill Preparatory School and both attended Texas Christian University. Kiley grew up working in her mother Lori Trent’s floral studio, The T Shop, in Lakewood, and her father Matthew Trent’s eponymous fine jewelry atelier in Preston Center, where she is now managing director.

Mac, who sells commercial equipment, proposed on a picnic at White Rock Lake on Kiley’s birthday July 5, 2015, surprising her with a ring that he and her father had designed. Though Kylie and her dad work side by side, she had no idea he had been secretly crafting the ring for months. Later that day, Mac had another surprise for her—a birthday and engagement party with family and friends. “After graduation and eight years of dating, everyone was ready for us to be married,” Kiley said, laughing.

Lori’s creative talent flowed in the planning of the wedding. Kiley and her mother designed a color scheme of white, cornflower blue, and gold with sparkling geodes and crystals, transforming the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek ballroom into a cloudlike setting with floor-to-ceiling white ribbons and flowers, and an altar glowing with candles. Mac and Kiley wrote their own vows. Her father made quartz boutonnieres and monogrammed cuff links for the groomsmen and geode earrings for the bride’s attendants. Kylie embroidered handkerchiefs for family members and guests as special remembrances of the happy day, which ended with dancing until late in the night to music from the Emerald City Band, and a dessert bar with all of Matthew Trent’s favorites to honor her father, who made her dream wedding possible.

Kiley and Mac honeymooned at Las Ventanas al Paraiso, A Rosewood Resort, in Los Cabos, Mexico.
