Bridal Sign Up

Nirvana Ahimsa Cobb & King Solomon Jewell III

November 12, 2016 | Ceremony & Reception: Miami Beach Woman’s Club

The bride looked stunning in a simple strapless White by Vera Wang gown and the fashion-forward groom looked on point in Jos. A. Bank.

Cake Craze duplicated Nirvana’s favorite dessert, rum cake, with four tiers coated in a citrusy lemon icing with handmade sugar orchids cascading down the side and a logo designed by the bride herself.

The couple’s daughter Brooklyn shined as the flower girl;

A fan of Gone With the Wind’s Scarlett O’Hara, the bride worked with Miami florist Yosvi to track down O’Hara white roses and blush peonies for her bouquet.

Nirvana wore chrome-embellished heels with bows.

THE COUPLE King presented Nirvana with a ring from a bubblegum machine and said their daughter, Brooklyn, wanted him to propose with it. “He took my hand and said, ‘There’s more to come,’” Nirvana recalls. “I wore the bubblegum ring on my finger and was proud. I had no idea a proposal was coming after dessert.” When a dessert tray came out, the bride-to-be found a sweet surprise: her real ring.

THE PARTY The intimate Mediterranean-style Miami Beach Woman’s Club, with its 1930s vibes and vaulted beamed ceilings, offered just the right Old World ambiance the couple was after. “I wanted a place that was royal and inspired love, since the goal for my wedding was that anyone who attended would fall in love or fall back in love,” says Nirvana. “The class, the charm, the ease of it all… it was just perfect.” The couple welcomed many out-of-town guests, including the bride’s 96-year-old grandmother, who didn’t leave the dance floor for most of the night. Highlights of the evening included a step and repeat, as well as fun little extras like cotton candy and ice pops. One of Nirvana’s favorite parts of the big day (after saying “I do”!)
was the father-daughter dance to Stevie Wonder’s “True Love.”

THE HONEYMOON The couple are tacking their honeymoon on to a destination wedding they’re attending in Tulum, where they plan on exploring the 13th century Mayan Ruins and relaxing along the Caribbean shores.
