Wild Side

Puro Papel showcases haute invitations with a wild side. 

While the runway has been influencing wedding style for years, fashion has also found its way into couture invitations. “Many of our clients are inspired by design, textures and fashion trends,” says Catalina Rojas, founder of Puro Papel, a custom print studio in Miami’s Ironside neighborhood. “So we often work with local artist Anna de Salloum, aka Señora de Salloum, to capture a couple’s unique style.” One of Gucci’s recent campaigns features bold prints and wild animals, so Rojas and de Salloum worked together to come up with a Miami spin on the design that emulates the local landscape. Using watercolor for the calligraphy and incorporating Florida-style foliage into the artwork, de Salloum handcrafted a one-of-a-kind invitation suite with a haute-meets-modern flair. Then Rojas letterpressed the design using a vintage Chandler & Price printer from 1890. From $3,500 for a suite of 75
