O.C. gourmands love to serve their community through cuisine, and these events provide the edible evidence.

1. Flavors of O.C.
Set for Oct. 15 at Hotel Irvine, the soiree (tickets $355) brings together chefs who concoct meals tableside for guests gathered in support of the American Liver Foundation. The culinary visionary? Selanne Steak Tavern’s Joshua Severson. “This involvement allows me to be creative in the kitchen while [also] helping organizations like ALF.” 

2. Signature Chefs Auction
Oct. 19, gastrophiles step out for this March of Dimes affair (tickets $400) at [AV] Irvine. Haven Gastropub’s Greg Daniels is the lead chef. It’s the second time he’s held this post for the eve, which benefits the charity’s work to improve the health of babies. It's a cause close to his heart." (March of Dimes came to his family’s aid after his daughter was born with a rare condition.) “I’ve met so many great people over the years who carry the flag.” 

3. Celebrity Chef Dinner
Share Our Selves moves to a new venue for its annual fete Nov. 10 at Paséa Hotel & Spa. Now in its 27th year, the event has seen a steady set of talents use their craft to aid vulnerable populations. Take Island Hotel’s David Man; he’s dished it out for 10-plus years. “[It] gives me satisfaction that I can... make a difference for the people of O.C.”
