Paséa Hotel & Spa was awash in seaside charm as the CHOC Glass Slipper Guild’s Gala by the Sea churned out an impressive $635,395 for the beloved institution.
THE PARTY An evening of giving commenced at Paséa Hotel & Spa as the CHOC Glass Slipper Guild kicked off its 24th annual soiree. Themed Gala by the Sea, the fete rolled out the blue carpet and Paséa’s ballroom was transformed into an underwater dream thanks to decor and florals by Steffanie Badgett and PEP Creative. THE SCENE Glass Slipper Guild co-presidents Nicole Hall and Marisa Hakala, along with event chair Nicole Long, welcomed some 450 partygoers to the lawn to nibble on passed appetizers like mac and cheese melts and sip cocktails as the sun set over the Pacific. THE HIGHLIGHTS Enticing live auction items, such as a 10-night stay in St. Lucia, roused the crowd, but it was the testimonies from those who had been helped by CHOC that moved attendees to donate an admirable $635,395. And with that tally, the GSG reached their $1 million pledge to the Hyundai Cancer Institute & Complementary Integrative Medicine Center. A happily ever after ending, indeed. -Allison Mitchell
