The Saddleback Memorial Foundation Gala rocketed to success by netting $300,000.
THE PARTY The Monarch Beach Resort took on an ethereal aura when the Saddleback Memorial Foundation held its annual bash benefiting its space redesign project (dubbed I’MAGINE) amid its surrounds. THE GUESTS A cocktail hour packed with 400-plus medical execs and VIPs (such as chair Barbara Victor and celeb manicurist Deborah Lippmann) gave way to the main event. CEO Marcia Manker spoke about the three-year, $16 million plan to add private rooms and a hybrid operating suite, among other updates. Campaign chairs Sam and Tammy Tang introduced a video about Alan King, who received a knee replacement. Then the man himself led the fund-a-need auction, raising more than $105,000. THE HIGHLIGHTS There was plenty more giving—former CEO Steve Geidt’s offer to bake the winner pies every month for a year sold twice for $5,750 each—and the evening was capped off by a grand total of $300,000 net. -Kristen Schott
