A select group of art patrons gathered for the Premiere Dinner at The San Diego Museum of Art to kick off this year’s Art Alive.
THE PARTY Each year, The San Diego Museum of Art’s highly anticipated Art Alive spans four days, and includes the grand, floral-themed Bloom Bash gala and more than 100 floral interpretations of masterworks in the museum. An intimate dinner for the honorary committee, the event’s most generous patrons, began the festivities April 26. THE GUESTS This year, Art Alive honored artist Nancy Lorenz, whose show, Nancy Lorenz: Moon Gold, is on view through September. Attendees included Ariel Plotek, Inna and James Kelly, Toni Bloomberg and other generous givers. THE HIGHLIGHTS Guests mingled at a cocktail hour accompanied by DJ Avi and violinist Yen Lam, then enjoyed the stylings of Shadow Lands Band during the dazzling gold- and silver-themed dinner (the Silver Sea and Sky included miso black cod and wagyu beef). It was a fitting start to Art Alive’s 37th festive year, which welcomed 12,000 attendees and raised $1.4 million to benefit public programs and exhibitions.
