Las Patronas Beneficiary Luncheon honored some of San Diego’s finest nonprofits.
San Diego’s finest philanthropists came together in support of Las Patronas’ work to provide crucial financial assistance to charity organizations within San Diego County. Held at The Marine Room, the annual luncheon drew the likes of 2016 Jewel Ball chair Kathryn Gayner and co-chairs Kelley Albence and Maureen Weber, who had the honor of presenting 10 checks—which averaged more than $39,000 each—to deserving nonprofits like Birch Aquarium and Serving Seniors.
Prior to sitting down for lunch, guests were welcomed to a buzzy cocktail reception overlooking La Jolla’s shores and were given the opportunity to peruse Las Patronas’ commemorative coffee-table book. Partygoers including Michelle Parker and Jennifer Kelly were then lead to the dining room to enjoy a delicious meal of artisan romaine lettuce with an anise sherry dressing; chimichurri-rubbed Mary’s Farm chicken; and a decadent trio of desserts.
While the entire afternoon was inspiring, Las Patronas President Leigh Plesniak said it best: “Las Patronas’ success is due to our many generous supporters and community partners. It is an honor to work with so many who are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in San Diego County.” - Meg McGuire
