Back by popular demand, Friday Night Lights will return to The Westin Kierland Golf Club just in time for spring. Starting Feb. 17, 2017, the Resort’s FUN team will partner with The Westin Kierland Golf Club to offer Friday night fun for all ages including golf games, SNAG® golf for kids, 20-minute clinics with the course pros, a nine-hole glow putt course, music and even beverage cart service right on the driving range.
“At Kierland Golf Club, we think learning golf and playing golf should be about having fun – and who better than the Resort’s FUN Team to help create a great evening for golfers and non-golfers of all ages,” said Nancy Dickens, the Resort’s director of Golf.
For families, the events will offer SNAG® golf (Starting New at Golf) an easy way for kids to learn the basics of putting, chipping, pitching and full swing using specially adapted equipment and targets, as well as a host of other family-friendly activities.
Adults will enjoy access to the driving range, putting and chipping clinics led by Kierland golf professionals, and games for grown-ups such as Margarita Putting (putt a lime to win a margarita), Guess Your Distance (using Flight Scope), Longest Drive and more.
Friday Night Lights at The Westin Kierland Golf Club will be offered from 5 – 7 p.m. Fridays from Feb. 17 to April 25. Admission is $10 per person. Children age 6 & under are free with a paying adult.
The Westin Kierland Golf Club is a Troon-managed course designed by Scott Miller featuring 27 holes that form a complementary collection of nines – each with its own flavor and strategy, but all equally enjoyable and challenging. Golfers can enjoy the luxury of golf carts with built-in misters for climate control and a covered driving range. Traditional golf instruction by award-winning instructors Mike and Sandy LaBauve is offered at the LaBauve Golf Academy and Director of Instruction Tyler Haynes, PGA who offers professional instruction and custom club fitting through the Kierland Performance Center. Kierland Golf Club’s innovative FORE-MAX program helps golfers step up their performance through improved fitness, flexibility and nutrition. With its customized workouts, FORE-MAX is also a popular fitness option for those who don’t play golf. For a unique golf experience, Kierland Golf Club offers a Scottish golf program, where golfers play in a traditional Scottish kilt, Segway Golf, where golfers traverse the course on a Segway specially crafted to carry their golf bag, golf bikes, which allow golfers to cycle the course and new GolfBoards, which golfers can use to “surf the earth” while golfing.
