The hospitality biz’s newest local exec has a zest for life.
Be in the moment: That’s what Matthew Peschke does. But balance and moderation are key. “I stay active and eat healthy, but life is short, so I try to enjoy [everything],” says Wisconsin-born Peschke, who recently moved from Las Vegas to become marketing director for W Washington DC. The gig is tailor-made for a fella who values experience. “We [do] a lot of events with artists, fashion brands and fitness gurus. I love to create these [programs] because I want to attend them.” When he’s not toning his hospitality muscles, he’s at the gym—at 4:30 every morning. (Leg day is his favorite, for the burn: “It reminds you how hard you worked.”) And he takes nighttime walks with his pup, Rogue, to explore. “DC has a vibrant culture. It makes it easy to escape from work.”
