THE PARTY A howling good time! Over 800 guests celebrated 100 years of the National Park Service at the Filene Center stage at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts. The Wolf Trap Ball morphed the stage—the second largest in the nation—to display scenes and landmarks that make up some of the most stunning National Parks.
THE PEOPLE Former first lady and honorary co-chair of the National Park Service’s Centennial Celebration, Laura Bush, and her husband, former president George W. Bush, attended the affair along with Secretary of the Interior, Honorable Sally Jewell.
BEST IN SHOW Guests enjoyed a cocktail reception and a spectacular multi-course dinner followed by dancing into the evening. Guests won raffle prizes, but the real winner was the Foundation’s arts and education programs—such as the Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts—which benefit from the money raised at the event.
