THE PARTY 60 fashionable guests celebrated Sofitel’s newest art exhibition by French artist Stephane Koerwyn, known for his paintings on aluminum and metal based dresses, with an elegant affair in the hotel’s iCi Urban Bistro. The party consisted of a luxurious red carpet and live modeling presentation inspired by New York Fashion Week. The hotel’s master chef, Gyo Santa, prepared an art-inspired selection of dishes from wagyu flat iron carpaccio salad to blueberry mousse, while guests sipped on Champagne and danced the night away to tunes by DJ Donald Syriani.
THE PEOPLE A range of hotel partners, VIP clients and AccorHotels Le Club Platinum members filled the party, including Jean-Marc Gaultier, President of the Washington, DC Chapter of the French American Chamber of Commerce and Hotel General Manager, Alexandra Byrne.
BEST IN SHOW Party goers participated in a social media contest in which one lucky winner went home with a $500 art piece by Koerwyn. No one left empty handed though, as gift bags were filled with items from David Yurman, Arena Stage, Zadig & Voltaire and CityCenter. Sofitel provided each guest with French fragrances and homemade blueberry scones made with the hotel’s own natural honey produced from its rooftop beehives.
