Taste of the Nation served up an incredible spread in support of kids in need.
THE PARTY Craving a snack? Here’s a nibble: Hundreds of hungry guests gathered at the National Building Museum for Taste of the Nation benefiting No Kid Hungry, one of the country’s most delicious events of the year. The evidence came by way of some 80-plus restaurants and bars, which dished out food and drink samples that took gourmands on a true culinary adventure. THE PEOPLE Chefs from BLT Steak (Michael Bonk), Compass Rose (Gerald Addison and Chris Morgan), DBGB (Nicholas Tang), Dirty Habit (Kyoo Eom) and Hazel (Rob Rubba) created the cuisine. And an expert panel led the event, with names like Mike Friedman of The Red Hen and Tiffany MacIsaac of Buttercream Bakeshop. Also feasting were Julia Blumenthal, Emily Roth, Scott Nguyen and Barrett Winfrey. BEST IN SHOW After noshing their way through the graze craze, gourmands hit the dance floor. DJ Neekola kicked things off; then Nashville-based singer-songwriter Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith performed two acoustic sets. A final taste: The night ended with a $250,000 tally.
