THE PARTY We believe in pink! Urban Country held their 25th Anniversary Celebration and Silent Auction to benefit The Power of Pink, a unique fundraising group dedicated to local organizations to help women with breast cancer, regardless of their ability to pay. Urban Country celebrated their silver anniversary of showcasing luxe furniture and design services while supporting a cause dedicated to women’s health services and breast cancer. The gorgeous store was decked in pink, serving sweet treats and delicious drinks. Guests were all smiles shopping the auction while nibbling on pink cake pops, too.
THE PEOPLE Special celebrity guest Tommy McFly was also among attendees of the event. McFly is most notably known for hosting The Tommy Show, 94.7 Fresh FM’s weekday morning variety talk program and WUSA9 entertainment correspondent.
BEST IN SHOW The silent auction was able to raise $10,650, 100% of which will be given to The Power of Pink who will donate the proceeds to the Arlington Free Clinic, Capital Care Breast Care Center, and Mercy Health Clinic. Urban Country founder and owner, Rachelle Roth, was diagnosed with breast cancer in August of 2015 making The Power of Pink the perfect fit for the event to benefit. Rachelle is now in remission and fortunately back in her normal routine at the Bethesda store. The Urban Country’s 25th Anniversary and Silent Auction was an evening full of pink, sparkle, and people with hearts willing to give to a powerful cause.
